Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn was born in the United States and has been working professionally for over 27 years. She is a talented thespian who has been active professionally from her early teens for the past 27 years. She started her professional career in 1990, in a non Broadway production of The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. As a character in The Perfect Tribute, she was given her first TV appearance a year later. In 1992 her career was started when she was commissioned for a part in the film Basic Instinct. It was in The Firm however that she got the role of leading female character for the very first time and that too opposite stars like Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Through the 1990s she collaborated alongside some of the most renowned names in the field, such as Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values. Recently, she was the role as Dr. Alex Blake in Criminal Minds.
